YPF SA Reports 211.9% Year Over Year Increase in Total Revenue of ARS 77.5 Billion for 2022 Fiscal Year

March 19, 2023

Earnings Overview

YPF SA ($BER:YPF) reported a total revenue of ARS 77.5 billion for the fourth quarter of their 2022 fiscal year, a 211.9% year-on-year increase. Additionally, net income rose by 122.4%, reaching ARS 786.5 billion compared to the same period in the preceding year. The results were announced on December 31, 2022.

Stock Price

This significant increase in revenue was mainly driven by a surge in crude oil production during the year and higher natural gas production due to the expansion of their Loma de la Lata shale field. However, on Friday the YPF SA stock opened at €11.0 and closed at €10.0, a drop of 8.3% from its previous closing price of 10.9. This drop in stock price was mainly attributed to losses experienced in its marketing and refining segments, which were not able to keep up with the higher revenue from its upstream operations. Despite this drop in stock price, investors remain optimistic about YPF SA’s future performance as the company continues to invest heavily in expanding its upstream operations and expanding its geographical reach.
